Why Should We Be An HHA?

ADVANCE TO HOME HEALTH AIDE (HHA)

Have you always wanted to work in the medical field but were unsure where to begin? Have you ever considered working as a certified professional home health aide (HHA)? The number of career options for HHAs is continually expanding. We have experienced this growth first-hand with an increase in both clients and new hires. To maintain our growth, we are committed to hiring and training the best home health aides. We have developed our training program that can have you certified and working as a professional HHA in 7 weeks!

When visiting a patient at home, an HHA is in charge of several unskilled tasks. The client can be elderly or have a handicap that makes it impossible for them to provide for themselves. Bathing, transferring (moving a patient from bed to chair), meal preparation, toileting, and housekeeping are all examples of non-skilled care. HHAs offer company and organize activities. They go out to lunch, have their hair done, and even take their patients to the doctor. HHAs are skilled observers who keep an eye out for little changes in their patients that can alert the medical staff to a problem. HHAs get so familiar with their clients that they may detect changes in their appetite, when they appear despondent and when they are losing their mobility. HHAs need to be outstanding documenters and be able to follow a care plan. A registered nurse (RN) oversees all home health aides employed by Silver Lining, and they receive plenty of clinical support to help them through any challenging circumstances.
